New Harvest Urban Arts Center

Columbus Invitational Arts Competition
Performing Arts Division

NHUAC's Performing Arts Project combines intergenerational audiences, leadership and artists to bring relevant performing art programs to Columbus. This project is designed to empower through entertainment. We believe the arts provide real opportunities for positive changes in our communities. NHUAC programs and events exist solely from donations and receive little in the way of grant funding. Our programs are largely funded by our volunteers and in-kind donations.

Established in 2004 New Harvest Urban Arts Center has been the home of 22 plays all written, directed, produced and performed by community playwrights, actors and actresses. Our mission is to provide community artists a place to practice their craft, while providing an outlet for their material. Using the 3E's model our program engages, educates and empowers community residents to create and support interactive, educational community performing arts. Our commitment is to bridging the gap between arts and the community, while assisting in every aspect of the creative process from conception, thru production and finally to the artists showcase. We strive to ensure everyone who has a voice has a place for their voice to be heard.
